Richland County Foundation Awards Educator Grant to ABRAXAS

Julie Pfeifer, ABRAXAS School, has been awarded a Richland County Foundation Educator Grant for $1,495.82 from the Marion B. Bowers Fund for Pfeifer’s Reading through Different Genres grant request.

Mansfield, OH (September 12, 2024) – The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center is pleased to announce that Julie Pfeifer, ABRAXAS School, has been awarded a Richland County Foundation Educator Grant for $1,495.82 from the Marion B. Bowers Fund for Pfeifer’s Reading through Different Genres grant request. This generous grant will purchase a wide array of books for the school library, fostering a rich literary environment for students.

Pfeifer expressed her gratitude, stating, "The support and generosity of The Richland County Foundation is greatly appreciated by both my students and me! We are so excited to add the new books to our library so that we can continue to explore different genres and experiences through reading."

“I would like to commend Ms. Pfeifer for her efforts to seek additional funds to provide resources for her students,” Kevin Kimmel, Superintendent MOESC. 

Support for this program/project was provided by a grant from the Richland County Foundation, whose continued efforts play a crucial role in enriching the educational landscape of our community.

The Richland County Foundation is one of the largest private sources of grant making in Richland County and administers over 430 charitable funds established by individuals, families, and businesses. Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center provides specialized academic and support services to 13 school districts and over 20,000 students in Crawford, Morrow and Richland Counties. Client districts receive services from curriculum, gifted and special education consultants, speech pathologists, psychologists, special education teachers, occupational therapists and physical therapists
