Mansfield, OH (July 18, 2024) – The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (MOESC) Board of Governors approved the BCBA Development Program Policy during its regular meeting on July 17, 2024. This new initiative was developed in response to the growing demand for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) services across our districts.

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a professional certified in applied behavior analysis by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. ABA is a science-based treatment approach that analyzes and modifies behavior to achieve desirable social outcomes, significantly improving students’ lives. The MOESC Behavior Support Team, which includes a BCBA, plays a critical role in identifying and addressing environmental factors that may hinder students' academic success.

Given the increasing need for BCBA services and the challenges in finding qualified applicants within the Mid-Ohio area, MOESC is expanding its "Grow Your Own" Development Programs to include a BCBA Development Program. This initiative aims to identify, recruit, and retain qualified candidates for BCBA certification by providing tuition reimbursement and supervised fieldwork placement. In return, candidates must commit to working for MOESC in the Mid-Ohio region for five years after graduation.

For more information about the MOESC BCBA Development Program or other development programs, such as the Speech-Language and School Psychologist Development Programs, please contact Jennifer Crum, Director of Student Services, at crum.jennifer@moesc.net or Megan Shook, Student Services Administrative Assistant, at shook.megan@moesc.net
