MOESC Hosts Relentless Leadership Administrative Conference
Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (MOESC) proudly hosted over 150 area school administrators and staff from 14 school districts for the Relentless Leadership conference on August 1st.
The morning started with a keynote address by Hamish Brewer, a high-octane, skateboarding principal from Northern
Virginia. He has become known as an educational disrupter who transcends the status quo and typical educational norms. He was recognized in 2018 as Principal of the Year by Northern Virginia Magazine and Principal of the Year in 2019 by Prince William County Public Schools. MOESC Superintendent Kevin Kimmel said, "Hamish provided an inspirational message for our educational leaders that stressed the importance of commitment versus compliance. He challenged the group to be advocates for all students regardless of their background or experiences."
Following were 16 different breakout sessions covering a wide variety of educational topics like special education, discipline, gifted students, social media, and the arts. The presenters came from various organizations including State Support Team 7, North Central Ohio Computer Cooperative, law firms Bricker & Eckler and Pepple& Waggoner, Ltd., as well as staff from MOESC.
The day concluded with a legislative update given by Tom Ash, the Director of Governmental Relations for the Buckeye Association of School Administrators.
